The Whitelands Project is beginning to establish itself as a social enterprise, with the aim of supporting local business alongside biodiversity, and education with ecological understanding. We will be doing everything we currently do but more so, with more people and more ideas getting involved. One of those fantastic people is Hannah Finch, who has chosen to run the London Marathon in aid of the Whitelands Project.

The Project has slowly risen to get back on its feet since the death of it’s principal, Jonathan West, in April 2018. The incredible support from the local community in this past year has been overwhelming. Those less able to give their time, or perhaps who live further away, have often asked  if there was a fundraiser or donation page they could contribute too. Now, thanks to Hannah, there is- you can support our cause by sponsoring her for the London Marathon.

Hannah says: In 7 weeks I will be running the London marathon for The Whitelands Project. It’s an amazing and inspiring project run by my friend Fritha tackling the threat we face to our country’s biodivesity head on. Training for and running the marathon is a mere drop in the ocean compared to the effort that Fritha has put into this project and I can’t think of a more worthy cause to support. Any money you can spare will go straight into the project and as Fritha says “the tallest trees can grow from the smallest seeds, because a little goes a very long way”. So click on the link below to read about the project and Fritha’s story, and if you are able to donate, your donation will be most gratefully received.

You can find our Fundly page here. We would be so grateful for your support- and if you’re interested but aren’t able to spare any cash right now, remember we are always looking for volunteers to help out with wildlife monitoring and at our work parties.

Many many thanks!
