Horse logging is a lower impact, environmental and traditional method of timber extraction.

Working in association with Rowan Working Horses we recently extracted timber from Priors Hill Copse community owned woodland, provided an educational day for Castle Hill Primary School, and in November will provide a team day out for Natural England.

Whitelands timber being prepared for extraction by horses a few years ago.
Although always an enjoyable and unique experience, showcasing horse logging to Castle Hill Primary School added an aspect of genuine wonder to the day. Timber was pulled around the playing field, watched carefully by almost 500 children slowly rotating to keep their eyes on the horses… The wood will later be used for the construction of a round-house building with assistance from the Project.
